Planned Giving

Your Library. Your Legacy.

Planned giving is any deferred gift intended to benefit the future of Nashville Public Library. There are a variety of financial arrangements that will allow you to make a planned gift to NPLF.

Your charitable bequest or other planned gift will not only ensure the Library and its programs thrive. It will allow you to create a deeply meaningful legacy that will endure for years. This gift also makes you a member of our Legacy Society, a group of dedicated Library supporters.

Financial Arrangements

Will – You may make a bequest of cash, stocks and bonds, real estate, personal property, or a percentage of your estate.

  • Don’t have a will? Contact Elizabeth Sherrard, our Director of Major Gifts, at 615-862-5814 for suggested “request language” and the NPLF tax ID to share with your attorney.

Life Insurance

  • You may designate NPLF as beneficiary on your insurance policy or transfer the policy outright.
  • Retirement Account – You may designate NPLF as full or partial beneficiary on your accounts.
  • Trusts – A trust may be established to benefit NPLF now or at a later time.
  • Annuities – You may make an outright gift to NPLF and receive annuity payments until a specified time in the future.
