Nashville, TN, August 26 – The Next Chapter Society, the emerging leaders group of the Nashville Public Library Foundation (NPLF), is launching its 2024 t-shirt campaign to support the Foundation’s mission to fund, advocate and amplify Nashville Public Library, powering literacy, life skills and connection for all. This campaign brings together the enthusiasm of more than 50 local civic leaders, authors, athletes, influential Nashvillians, and “bookfluencers” who are joining this initiative, showcasing the broad support this important institution has on the lives of many with the searchable hashtag #MyWeekendsAreBookedAtNPL.
“Library lovers around the globe have shown such enthusiastic support for this campaign in its first two years, helping us raise nearly $20,000,” says Rosemary Rapolla, chair of the Next Chapter Society. “I have run into so many individuals of all ages wearing shirts from the first two campaigns, and it is always a reminder of how passionate the support for our city’s library is. Because of the amazing energy of our volunteers, partners and influencers, our goal for this year’s campaign is $15,000. This figure would enable NPL to do a tremendous amount of outreach in our communities.”
The fundraiser features a limited-edition t-shirt and tote bag designed by local artist Andrew Cook, owner of EZCO, and printed locally by Friendly Arctic. Cook’s design reflects the spirit and mission of the Next Chapter Society: to support the library in fun and creative ways. A generous portion of proceeds will support the Foundation’s investment in vital library programs and resources.
Cook said it was a “no brainer” to lend his artistic talent and services in designing the shirt, given the hours he spent in the library as a child.

“I’d go there after school and post up in a bean bag chair and read for 3 to 4 hours until my parents got out of work. I was a voracious reader, and the library was my safe place where I could experience whole other worlds of adventure and intrigue,” he says. “I think libraries are vital institutions that must be protected at all costs, and I’d happily donate as much time as needed to help protect them. I hope this shirt design is the first of many contributions I can make to do so.”
The fundraiser will run from Sept. 13 to Sept. 30, with t-shirts available in unisex, women’s, and youth sizes. A limited-edition tote bag is also available. Merchandise can be purchased through Friendly Arctic at bit.ly/myweekendsarebooked and will be shipped in early October.
