Picnic with the Library, the Foundation’s signature family event, raises critical funds to support life-changing early literacy programming for children at Nashville Public Library. On a beautiful Sunday in April, nearly 500 supporters gathered at the Main Library for the 10th annual Picnic with the Library.
Last year’s event was inspired by Where the Wild Things Are, bringing the imaginative world of Max and the Wild Things to life through literature-themed experiences for children of all ages. Families enjoyed a puppet show by Wishing Chair Productions, crafts, face painting, visits from beloved children’s book characters, food, cocktails for adults, and more.
Picnic with the Library continues to power Nashville Public Library’s Wishing Chair Productions, story times, Puppet Trucks, mentorship programs, and early literacy initiatives, reaching and enriching the lives of over 100,000 children and their families annually.
