NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Next Chapter Society (NCS) is pleased to announce the selection of their 2026 book club titles. Books for 2026 were selected using audience-selected genres and recommendations from Nashville Public Library (NPL) librarians.

OPEN AND FREE TO ALL, this is a chance to borrow a book from a local branch and meet up with other Nashville readers and lovers of the library.

NCS will be partnering with local businesses to host the book club gatherings on a rotating basis. In addition to being generous hosts, partners will be donating a portion of that evening’s proceeds to Nashville Public Library Foundation.

July’s Book Club selection features the work of local Nashville author, Lyndsay Rush, who will join the group for discussion on her debut collection of poems A Bit Much.

“As someone who used to think she didn’t like poetry (and then accidentally became a poet), I’m excited to invite more people into this surprisingly-fun genre of literature,” said Rush in response her selection as the book club’s 2026 Author Ambassador.

Lyndsay Rush is a comedy writer, cofounder of the branding agency Semiserious, and the poet behind the Instagram sensation, @maryoliversdrunkcousin. Her debut book of poems, A Bit Much, was an Instant USA Today Bestseller, and her writing has been featured in Reductress, McSweeney’s, New York Magazine, and The New York Times

The 2026 book club will kick off at Yazoo Brewing in Madison on Tuesday, January 27 at 6:30 PM and the group will be discussing The Wedding People by Alison Espach.

The entire schedule, including dates, locations, and links to check out a copy of each book can be found on NPLF’s website at: nplf.org/events
