NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Public Library Foundation (NPLF) will host the 11th annual Picnic with the Library on Sunday, April 26, 2026. This beloved family tradition will bring the world of Charlotte’s Web to life, inviting children and caregivers to enjoy an afternoon of literature-inspired fun.
Picnic with the Library is co-chaired by Kendra and Terry Deas, Memorie White-Johnson, and Ryan and Barrett Wood, whose leadership is instrumental in making this fundraiser a success.
“Picnic with the Library has become a treasured tradition for Nashville families,” said Shawn Bakker, president of the Nashville Public Library Foundation. “As we celebrate the 11th year of this event, we are grateful for our chairs and supporters, whose generosity helps us expand early literacy and educational opportunities for children and teens across our city.”
Guests will enjoy a radiant afternoon of family-friendly fun, with early entry from 2:30–3:30 p.m for VIP Patron-level guests, followed by general admission from 3:30–6:00 p.m. Festivities include interactive story times and puppet performances from Wishing Chair Productions, hands-on crafts, live music, face painting, family photo opportunities, delicious food and treats, and cocktails for adults. Proceeds from Picnic with the Library support life-changing early literacy and teen programs at NPL, including Wishing Chair Productions, story times, the Puppet Truck, mentorship programs, Studio NPL, and other initiatives that reach more than 100,000 Nashvillians a year.
Picnic basket packages include admission for two adults and up to four children. To learn more about Picnic with the Library or how to participate, visit nplf.org/picnic.
