Be Well at NPL

Wellness for All

We consider our neighbors’ health to be a big deal, and we understand that health is about more than just healthcare. In fact, Davidson County is ranked 36 among 95 Tennessee counties for socio- economic factors affecting health outcomes: roughly 36% of Nashville adults have not graduated high school, 17% of our children live in poverty, and 20% do not have health insurance. Be Well at NPL aims to break down those barriers. The program focuses on enriching the communities served by our branch locations through free health activities, education, and resources provided in a safe and welcoming environment. Residents can attend nutrition seminars, join a casual cooking club, stretch out during weekly yoga classes, and more.  In FY25, Be Well at NPL provided 3,150 wellness programs to over 30,000 people, including 2,425 physical activity classes, 150 mental wellness programs, 325 breastfeeding/lactation counseling, infant & toddler CPR, pediatric movement and pelvic floor classes, and 250 garden education, gardening workshops, and seed exchange classes. Learn more about Be Well at NPL — and find the your nearest Be Well event — on the library’s website.

Be Well expanded its programming to support early childhood education and health, adding pediatric physical therapy, pelvic floor workshops, and infant and toddler CPR classes, all of which were in high demand with waitlists.
