Since 1957, the Friends of the Nashville Public Library has faithfully played a crucial role in accomplishing the Library’s mission to “inspire reading, advance learning and connect the community” through a wide range of fundraising, advocacy and volunteerism initiatives.
Recent discussions around expanding the Library’s reach into the community have presented the need for a solution that would continue to empower the Friends in their activity, while integrating the broader fundraising and advocacy efforts with those of the Nashville Public Library Foundation, combining each groups’ strengths to create maximized impact and new ways to support the Library at the community level.
Beginning July 1, 2018, the next chapter of the Friends’ rich history begins through an exciting new partnership with the Nashville Public Library Foundation. Through this joining of forces, both the Friends and Foundation will continue to support the Library by working together to extend the Library’s reach and create enriching experiences that will impact communities all across the greater Nashville area.
