Winner of the Frank O’Conner International Short Story Award, compared to John Steinback and Cormac McCarthy
May 24 – Andrea Wulf – Chasing Venus
Andrea has written for New York Times, LA Times, Wall Street Journal, the Sunday Times and the Guardian, as well as others. She is a three-time fellow of the International center for Jefferson Studies at Monticello.
June 5 – Jeff Shaara - Blaze of Glory
Son of Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Shaara, writer of historical fiction, twelve novels, eight of which were New York Times Best Sellers.
June 14 – Richard Ford – Canada
Author of seven novels, and four short story collections. Compared to John Updike, William Faulkner, and Ernest Hemingway.
July 24 – Chris Cleave – Gold
His debut novel (Incendiary) won a 2006 Somerset Maugham Award, and won the United States Book-of-the-Month Club’s First Fiction award in 2005. His second novel Little Bee is a New York Times #1 Best Seller. He is also a journalist with The Guardian.
May 3rd – Nashville Opera
Who doesn’t like a good love story? Director of Education and Outreach, Stuart Holt, investigates an adult perspective of the magic and mystery, the romance and passion behind fairy tales of times past.
